Bhishma said: That region was beautified by groves of mango trees that blossomed and bore fruit in every season. Attended by Yakshas and Kinnaras, it appeared delightful—like a portion of Nandana, Indra’s celestial garden.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse underscores the idea of auspicious environments: a realm marked by harmony, abundance, and refined company (Yakshas and Kinnaras) reflects the fruits of dharmic order and well-governed, sanctified space.
Bhishma is describing a wondrous, idyllic region—rich with ever-flowering mango groves and inhabited by celestial beings—comparing it to a part of Indra’s Nandana garden to convey its extraordinary beauty.
