Vaiśampāyana uvāca: kathāntaram athāsādya khaḍga-yuddha-viśāradaḥ | Nakulaḥ śara-talpa-stham idam āha pitāmaham ||
Vaiśampāyana said: “O Janamejaya, when the previous episode had concluded and an opening arose, Nakula—highly skilled in sword-combat—addressed the grandsire Bhīṣma, who lay upon the bed of arrows, and asked him as follows.”
