Adhyāya 159 — Dāna–Dakṣiṇā, Āpaddharma Measures, and Prāyaścitta Classifications
दर्प: क्रोधो मद: स्वप्रो हर्ष: शोको5तिमानिता । एत एव हि कौरव्य दृश्यन्ते लुब्धबुद्धिषु
darpaḥ krodho madaḥ svapno harṣaḥ śoko ’timānitā | eta eva hi kauravya dṛśyante lubdhabuddhiṣu ||
Bhishma said: “O scion of the Kurus, in those whose understanding is ensnared by greed, these very faults are seen—arrogance, anger, intoxication of pride, delusive dreaming, elation, grief, and excessive self-conceit.”
