नैवोग्रं नैव चानुग्रं धर्मेणेह प्रशस्यते । उभयं न व्यतिक्रामेदुग्रो भूत्वा मृदुर्भव
Translation
Bhishma said: “O Yudhishthira, in the dharma of kingship, neither sheer harshness nor sheer gentleness alone is praised. One should not abandon either of the two. Therefore, be stern first, and then be mild.”
