vaiśampāyana uvāca teṣāṃ tad vacanaṃ śrutvā siddhānāṃ devalaḥ punaḥ | ānupūrvyena lokāṃs tān sarvān avatātāra ha ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Hearing those words spoken by the Siddhas, the sage Devala once again descended—passing in due sequence through all those worlds—until he came down below. The narrative underscores reverence for realized beings and the disciplined, orderly movement of one who follows higher counsel rather than impulse.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights deference to spiritually accomplished beings (Siddhas) and the virtue of acting in an orderly, disciplined manner—Devala follows their words and proceeds step by step rather than rashly.
After hearing the Siddhas’ statement, the sage Devala begins his return journey, descending through the various realms in sequence until he comes down to the lower world.
