Vaiśampāyana said: Around that mighty Lord stood formidable powers—Parigha and Varta, Bhīma of great strength, and Dahati and Dahana, both fierce and renowned for their valor—encircled as well by the Rudras, the Vasus, the Ādityas, and the two Aśvins. The scene underscores a vision of divine solidarity: many cosmic forces gather in ordered attendance, suggesting that true power is not mere violence but disciplined strength aligned with a higher purpose.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse presents power as legitimate when it is harmonized within a larger moral and cosmic order: many mighty forces stand in disciplined attendance around a higher authority, implying that strength gains meaning when aligned with dharma rather than used as isolated aggression.
Vaiśampāyana describes a majestic gathering in which formidable beings—named figures like Parigha, Varta, Bhīma, Dahati, and Dahana—along with divine groups (Rudras, Vasus, Ādityas, and the Aśvins) surround and attend a central ‘Lord,’ emphasizing a solemn, awe-filled assembly of powers.
