Vaiśampāyana said: Commanded by the gods, those swift and valiant warriors became attendants of Skanda. Having received divine sanction, they took their place as Skanda’s retinue—disciplined power, acting not from personal whim but in obedience to a higher cosmic order.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Legitimate power is shown as power under restraint: warriors become effective and ethically aligned when they act under rightful authority (here, divine command) rather than personal impulse.
Vaiśaṃpāyana reports that certain heroic beings, appointed by the gods, are incorporated into Skanda’s following, emphasizing Skanda’s divinely supported martial leadership.
