Sañjaya said: “At the word of Dhṛtarāṣṭra, descendant of Vicitravīrya, the compassionate Yudhiṣṭhira—also at Govinda’s urging—could install you in the kingship.”

Even after conflict, rightful governance should be guided by compassion and ethical counsel: Yudhiṣṭhira’s mercy, aligned with Kṛṣṇa’s guidance and Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s directive, frames kingship as a duty grounded in dharma rather than vengeance.
Sañjaya reports that Yudhiṣṭhira—known for compassion—has the capacity to install the addressed person in the kingdom, doing so in accordance with Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s word and with Govinda (Kṛṣṇa) also urging the same course.
