Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the cultural-ethical power of shared remembrance: a tīrtha becomes authoritative in lived tradition through its name and the community’s continuous telling, reinforcing reverence for sacred places and inherited practice.

Vaiśampāyana continues the account of the journey: the mighty Balarāma proceeds to the tīrtha known as Camasoddheda, a place popularly called by that very name.
