रोहिणीं निवसत्येव प्रीयमाणो मुहुर्मुहु: । पृथ्वीनाथ! पिताके विदा करनेपर वे पुनः चन्द्रमाके घरमें लौट गयीं, तथापि भगवान् सोम फिर रोहिणीके पास ही अधिकाधिक प्रेमपूर्वक रहने लगे
rohiṇīṃ nivasatyeva prīyamāṇo muhur muhuḥ |
Vaiśampāyana said: Though the Moon (Soma) had returned to his own abode after taking leave, he repeatedly, with ever-growing affection, continued to dwell chiefly with Rohiṇī. The episode shows how partiality born of attachment can disturb balance and invite moral tension, even when outward proprieties are observed.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical problem of favoritism: even after observing outward propriety, persistent attachment can lead one to act partially, unsettling fairness and harmony.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Soma (the Moon), despite returning to his own home after leave-taking, keeps returning to and residing with Rohiṇī repeatedly, showing special affection toward her.
