द्वैपायनह्रदे दुर्योधनान्वेषणम् / The Search for Duryodhana at Dvaipāyana Lake
ततो<हं समनुज्ञाप्य राजानं सहकेशवम् | प्रविष्टो हास्तिनपुरं रक्षल्लोंकान् प्रधावितान्
tato 'haṃ samanujñāpya rājānaṃ saha-keśavam | praviṣṭo hāstinapuraṃ rakṣallokān pradhāvitān ||
Sañjaya said: “Then, having obtained permission from the king, together with Keśava (Kṛṣṇa), I entered Hāstinapura in order to protect the people who had fled in panic.”
संजय उवाच
Even after victory, dharma continues as the duty to protect and stabilize society; responsible leadership prioritizes the safety of frightened civilians and restores order rather than indulging in triumph.
Sañjaya reports that, with the consent of King Yudhiṣṭhira and in the presence/association of Kṛṣṇa (Keśava), he goes into Hāstinapura to safeguard people who have scattered and fled in fear.
