द्वैपायनह्रदे दुर्योधनान्वेषणम् / The Search for Duryodhana at Dvaipāyana Lake
तस्मिंस्तथा वर्तमाने विद्रवे भूशदारुणे । युयुत्सु: शोकसम्मूढ: प्राप्तकालमचिन्तयत्
tasmiṁs tathā vartamāne vidrave bhūśa-dāruṇe | yuyutsuḥ śoka-sammūḍhaḥ prāpta-kālam acintayat ||
Sañjaya said: While that dreadful rout was thus in progress, Yuyutsu, overwhelmed and bewildered by grief, began to reflect inwardly on what duty the moment demanded.
संजय उवाच
Even amid panic and grief, one should pause to discern prāpta-kāla-dharma—the action that is ethically and practically appropriate to the moment—rather than act blindly under emotional shock.
A terrifying rout has broken out on the battlefield. In that chaos, Yuyutsu—struck by sorrow and confusion—turns inward to consider what he should do next, and Sanjaya reports this to Dhṛtarāṣṭra.
