Chapter 14: Divyāstra-Prayoga and Ṛṣi Intervention (दिव्यास्त्रप्रयोगः ऋषिसमागमश्च)

nāradaḥ sarvabhūtātmā bharatānāṃ pitāmahaḥ | tayor astratejaḥ samastān lokān santāpayad tatraiva tasthau | tasmin kāle tatra samastabhūtānām ātmā nāradaś ca bharatavaṃśasya pitāmaho vyāsaś ca—etau dvau maharṣī ekasmin kāle darśanam āgatau |

Vaiśaṃpāyana said: As the blazing energy of those two weapons scorched the worlds, Nārada—called the very soul of all beings—and Vyāsa, the grandsire of the Bharata lineage, appeared there together. Their sudden presence signals that when destructive power threatens to exceed moral limits, the highest seers intervene to restore restraint and right order.

Educational Q&A

Unchecked weapon-power, especially divine missiles, can endanger the whole world; therefore higher moral and spiritual authority (represented by Nārada and Vyāsa) must guide warriors back to restraint and dharma.

As the destructive radiance of two weapons spreads and torments the worlds, the sages Nārada and Vyāsa appear together at the scene, indicating an impending intervention to prevent escalation and restore order.
