Draupadī’s Question in the Assembly
एवं ते ज्ञातय: सर्वे मोदमाना: शतं समा: । त्वन्नियुक्त: सव्यसाची निगृह्नलातु सुयोधनम्
evaṁ te jñātayaḥ sarve modamānāḥ śataṁ samāḥ | tvanniyuktaḥ savyasācī nigṛhṇīyātu suyodhanam ||
Thus may all your kinsmen rejoice for a hundred years. Let the ambidextrous Arjuna, acting under your command, restrain Suyodhana (Duryodhana).
विदुर उवाच
Wrongdoing within the family and state should be checked through rightful authority and measured restraint; protecting the many and preserving peace is a king’s dharmic responsibility.
Vidura urges the king to authorize Arjuna—renowned as Savyasācī—to curb Duryodhana, so that the entire royal clan may live in joy and stability for a long time.
