मायासभायां दुर्योधनस्य अवमान-प्रसङ्गः
Duryodhana’s Humiliation in the Hall of Māyā
एकैकस्य नृपस्याड्के पुत्रमारोपयत् तदा । चेदिराजने अपने घर पधारे हुए उन सभी नरेशोंका यथायोग्य सत्कार करके अपने पुत्रको हर एककी गोदमें रखा
ekaikasya nṛpasyāṅke putram āropayat tadā |
Bhīṣma said: Then, after honoring each of the visiting kings in a manner befitting their rank, the king of Cedi placed his son, one by one, upon the lap of every monarch.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights rājadharma expressed through proper reception of guests: honoring each ruler according to status and reinforcing bonds through symbolic gestures of trust and respect.
Bhīṣma narrates that the king of Cedi, after duly welcoming the assembled kings who had come to his house, placed his son on each king’s lap in turn as a public mark of honor and affiliation.
