Arjuna’s Northern Conquests and Tribute Collection
ते वै रत्नभुजं कृष्णं रत्नाह: पृथिवीश्वरा: । राजानकश्षक्रुरासाद्य मोक्षिता महतो भयात्,उस महान् भयसे छूटे हुए रत्नभोगी नरेशोंने भगवान् श्रीकृष्णसे मिलकर उन्हें विविध रत्नोंसे युक्त कर दिया
te vai ratnabhujam kṛṣṇaṃ ratnāḥ pṛthivīśvarāḥ | rājānakaś śakrur āsādya mokṣitā mahato bhayāt ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Those earthly kings, once freed from great fear, approached Kṛṣṇa—renowned as the enjoyer and bestower of precious treasures—and, in gratitude and reverence, presented him with many kinds of jewels.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
When fear and oppression are removed through righteous protection, dharma calls for gratitude and proper honoring of the protector; gifts here symbolize acknowledgment of refuge and the restoration of moral order.
Kings who have been delivered from a great danger approach Śrī Kṛṣṇa and present him with various jewels, effectively adorning or enriching him as an act of thanks and allegiance.
