अतीत्य गड्डां शोणं च त्रयस्ते प्राड्मुखास्तदा । कुशचीरच्छदा जम्मुर्मागधं क्षेत्रमच्युता:
atītya gaṅgāṃ śoṇaṃ ca trayas te prāṅmukhās tadā | kuśacīracchadā jagmur māgadhaṃ kṣetram acyutāḥ ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana said: Having crossed the Gaṅgā and the Śoṇa, those three steadfast heroes then proceeded facing east. Clad only in kuśa-grass and bark-cloth, they journeyed on and, in due course, reached the borders of the land of Magadha.
