Jarā’s Account and the Enthronement of Jarāsandha (जरासंधोत्पत्तिः अभिषेकश्च)
एको होव श्रियं नित्यं बिभर्ति पुरुषर्षभ: । अन्तरात्मेव भूतानां तत्क्षयं नैव लक्षये
eko hi sa śriyaṃ nityaṃ bibharti puruṣarṣabhaḥ | antarātmeva bhūtānāṃ tatkṣayaṃ naiva lakṣaye ||
He alone, O best of men, continually bears and enjoys royal fortune. Like the indwelling Self within living beings, I do not perceive any natural means by which he can be brought to ruin; therefore his destruction will not come of itself and must be achieved only through deliberate effort.
वायुदेव उवाच
Power that is firmly established does not collapse merely by time or chance; when injustice is entrenched, ethical responsibility shifts to conscious, well-planned human action to remove it.
Vāyudeva comments on Jarāsandha’s exceptional, solitary hold over sovereignty and prosperity, judging that no ordinary or automatic cause of downfall is visible; hence, if he is to be eliminated, it will require intentional intervention and strategy.
