श्रीकृष्ण उवाच ततस्ते भरतश्रेष्ठ काशिराजसुते शुभे । त॑ं बालमभिपलद्याशु प्रस्रवैरभ्यषिड्चताम्
śrīkṛṣṇa uvāca | tataste bharataśreṣṭha kāśirājasute śubhe | taṁ bālam abhipaladyāśu prasravair abhyasiñcatām ||
Śrī Kṛṣṇa said: “Then, O best of the Bharatas, the two auspicious daughters of the king of Kāśī quickly took that infant into their arms and bathed him with the flow of milk from their breasts.”
श्रीकृष्ण उवाच
The verse foregrounds immediate compassion and protective care toward the vulnerable: the women respond instinctively and nurturingly to an infant, illustrating a dharmic ethic where safeguarding life and offering sustenance take precedence over delay or hesitation.
Śrī Kṛṣṇa narrates that the two daughters of the king of Kāśī promptly lift an infant into their arms and soothe/cleanse him by letting the milk from their breasts flow over him—an image of urgent maternal care and acceptance.
