Jarā’s Account and the Enthronement of Jarāsandha (जरासंधोत्पत्तिः अभिषेकश्च)
kartukāmā sukhavahe śakale sā tu rākṣasī | saṃyojayāmāsa tadā vidhānabalacoditā ||
Urged on by the force of destiny’s ordinance, that rākṣasī—desiring to make the two pieces easy to carry—then joined the fragments together.
The verse highlights the interplay between individual intention (kartukāmā) and the compelling force of what is ‘ordained’ (vidhānabalacoditā), inviting reflection on responsibility when actions are framed as driven by destiny.
A demoness, wanting the two pieces to be conveniently carried, joins the fragments together at that moment, described as being impelled by the power of destiny’s arrangement.
