Jarā’s Account and the Enthronement of Jarāsandha (जरासंधोत्पत्तिः अभिषेकश्च)
राजोवाच भगवन् राज्यमुत्सृज्य प्रस्थितो5हं तपोवनम् । कि वरेणाल्पभाग्यस्य कि राज्येनाप्रजस्य मे,राजाने कहा--भगवन्! मैं तो अब राज्य छोड़कर तपोवनकी ओर चल पड़ा हूँ। मुझ अभागे और संतानहीनको वर अथवा राज्यकी क्या आवश्यकता?
rājovāca bhagavan rājyam utsṛjya prasthito 'haṃ tapovanam | kiṃ vareṇālpabhāgyasya kiṃ rājyenāprajasya me ||
The king said: “O Blessed one, I have renounced my kingdom and set out for the forest of austerities. What use is a boon to one of scant fortune? What use is kingship to me, who am without offspring?”
स उवाच मुनि राजा भगवन् नास्ति मे सुतः ।
