Samrāt-Lakṣaṇa and the Counsel to Check Jarāsandha (सम्राट्-लक्षणं जरासन्ध-प्रतिबाधा-परामर्शः)
कुशस्थलीं पुरी रम्यां रैवतेनोपशोभिताम् | ततो निवेशं तस्यां च कृतवन्तो वयं नूप,और राजन! रैवतक पर्वतसे सुशोभित रमणीय कुशस्थली पुरीमें जाकर हमलोग निवास करने लगे
Kuśasthalīṃ purīṃ ramyāṃ Raivatena upaśobhitām | tato niveśaṃ tasyāṃ ca kṛtavanto vayaṃ nṛpa ||
Śrī Kṛṣṇa said: “We then went to the delightful city of Kuśasthalī, made splendid by Mount Raivata; and there, O king, we established our dwelling.”
श्रीकृष्ण उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic social order through peaceful settlement: choosing a secure, beautiful place to live and establishing residence lawfully, emphasizing stability, community, and rightful habitation rather than aggression.
Kṛṣṇa narrates to the king that they went to the charming city called Kuśasthalī, beautified by Mount Raivata, and that they (his people) took up residence there.
