Nārada said: Having duly completed that great sacrifice, the mighty Hariścandra was consecrated to imperial sovereignty. Once anointed as emperor, the lord of men shone with renewed splendor.
नारद उवाच
The verse links rightful sovereignty with the completion of dharmic duty: power and prestige are portrayed as ethically grounded when they arise from successfully fulfilling great obligations (here, a major sacrifice) and receiving legitimate consecration.
Nārada narrates that King Hariścandra has finished a great sacrificial rite and is then anointed to imperial rule; upon receiving the consecration, he appears especially radiant and glorious as a sovereign.
