Yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | prāyaśo rājalokas te kathito vadatāṁ vara | vaivasvatasabhāyāṁ tu yathā vadasi me prabho ||
Yudhiṣṭhira said: “O best of speakers, as you have described it to me, it seems that the condition and destination of most kings is spoken of chiefly in the assembly of Vaivasvata (Yama). O lord, that is how you explain it to me.”
युधिछ्िर उवाच
Even rulers are subject to moral reckoning; the verse frames kingship within accountability after death, associated here with Yama’s court, implying that power does not exempt one from dharma’s consequences.
