Vaiśampāyana uvāca: evam uktvān avekṣyaināṃ yayau bharatasattamaḥ | samādhāya mano dhīmān dharmātmā puruṣarṣabhaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Having spoken thus, the best of the Bharatas went on without even looking back at her. That wise, righteous-souled bull among men—Yudhiṣṭhira—steadied his mind in concentration and continued forward.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights steadfastness in dharma through mental composure and detachment: once a righteous decision is made, one should proceed without being pulled back by emotion or attachment, keeping the mind collected (samādhāya manaḥ).
After speaking, Yudhiṣṭhira continues onward on the great final journey, not turning to look at the woman referred to (enām). The narrator emphasizes his disciplined mind and dharmic resolve as he proceeds.
