Śarva said: “Aṅgiras, the knower of sacred formulas, instructed his son Bṛhaspati. Thereafter Bṛhaspati, in turn, imparted that same knowledge to the highly intelligent Āgniveśya.”
शर्व उवाच
The verse emphasizes the ethical and cultural ideal of preserving sacred knowledge through an authentic teacher–student lineage: a qualified teacher transmits, and a worthy, intelligent recipient receives and carries it forward.
Śarva recounts a succession of instruction: Aṅgiras teaches his son Bṛhaspati, and Bṛhaspati then teaches the sage Āgniveśya, establishing a chain of authoritative transmission.
