हृततेजोबला: सर्वे तदा सेन्द्रा दिवौकस: । ब्रह्माणं शरणं जम्मुर्वत्राद् भीता महासुरात्,उस समय तेज और बलसे हीन हुए इन्द्र आदि सम्पूर्ण देवता महान् असुर वृत्रसे भयभीत हो ब्रह्माजीकी शरणमें गये
sañjaya uvāca | hṛtatejobalāḥ sarve tadā sendrā divaukasaḥ | brahmāṇaṃ śaraṇaṃ jagmur vṛtrād bhītā mahāsurāt ||
Sañjaya said: “Then all the gods of heaven, led by Indra, bereft of their radiance and strength, went for refuge to Brahmā, terrified of the great asura Vṛtra.”
संजय उवाच
When strength and confidence collapse, the proper response is humility and seeking wise refuge (śaraṇa) rather than reckless action; even the powerful must turn to higher guidance in a moral crisis.
Indra and the other gods, weakened and frightened by the formidable asura Vṛtra, approach Brahmā for protection and counsel, marking a turning point where divine strategy is sought after a setback.
