Sanjaya said: A young gatekeeper—wearing earrings, with a sword fastened at his waist and armor upon his chest—entered the inner gateway, knelt with both knees upon the ground, and bowed his head in reverence to the venerable King Yudhiṣṭhira. Having thus paid homage, he informed the righteous son of Dharma, the great-souled Yudhiṣṭhira, that Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa (Hṛṣīkeśa) was approaching.
संजय उवाच
Even in the midst of war, dharma expresses itself through discipline, humility, and proper honor: the gatekeeper follows protocol, and the king is approached with reverence while divine counsel (Kṛṣṇa/Hṛṣīkeśa) is welcomed.
A young doorkeeper enters the inner court, kneels and salutes Yudhiṣṭhira, then formally announces that Śrī Kṛṣṇa (Hṛṣīkeśa) is arriving.
