Educational Q&A

The verse evokes an idealized earlier condition where social life was harmonious enough that rigid political boundaries were unnecessary; when people can obtain legitimate well-being without conflict, collective contentment arises.

Nārada describes a primordial/ancient time: there were no separate kingdoms or city jurisdictions, and people freely enjoyed happiness according to their wishes, resulting in a generally satisfied populace.
