Educational Q&A

The verse teaches the purificatory and protective power attributed to a sacred stotra: sincere recitation is presented as a means to fulfill worthy aims, cleanse moral impurity, and cultivate inner freedom from sorrow and fear—thereby supporting dharmic resilience in crisis.

Vyāsa, speaking as an authoritative seer, praises a particular hymn being discussed in the surrounding passage, emphasizing its spiritual efficacy—especially relevant in the Drona Parva’s atmosphere of grief, danger, and ethical strain during the war.
