अद्य दास्यामि संग्रामं सूतपुत्राय तं निशि । यं जना: सम्प्रवक्ष्यन्ति यावद् भूमिर्धरिष्यति,आज मैं इस रातमें सूतपुत्र कर्णके साथ ऐसा संग्राम करूँगा, जिसकी चर्चा जबतक यह पृथ्वी रहेगी, तबतक लोग करते रहेंगे
adya dāsyāmi saṅgrāmaṃ sūtaputrāya taṃ niśi | yaṃ janāḥ sampravakṣyanti yāvad bhūmir dhariṣyati ||
“Tonight I will engage Karṇa, the charioteer’s son, in such a battle that people will speak of it for as long as the earth endures.”
