Sañjaya said: “O King, seeing Aśvatthāmā, the son of Droṇa, slay Drupada, the sons of Kuntibhoja, and thousands of rākṣasas, Yudhiṣṭhira, Bhīmasena, Dhṛṣṭadyumna the son of Pārṣata (Drupada), and Yuyudhāna all became fully alert and prepared, fixing their minds solely upon battle.”
संजय उवाच
In a moment of grave crisis, the leaders of the Pāṇḍava side gather their inner discipline (saṃyatta) and direct their intention toward the duty at hand—battle as a form of kṣatriya responsibility—showing steadiness of mind rather than panic or despair.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Yudhiṣṭhira, Bhīma, Dhṛṣṭadyumna, and Yuyudhāna (Sātyaki) become fully prepared and concentrate on fighting, responding to the escalating violence and danger on the battlefield.
