ततः प्रध्माप्प जलजं भेरीशतसमस्वनम् । अक्षुभ्यत बल हर्षादुद्धृत इव सागर:,तदनन्तर कर्णने हर्षपूर्वक सैकड़ों भेरियोंके समान गम्भीर ध्वनि करनेवाले शंखको बजाकर सब ओर गुँजा दिया। इससे पाण्डवोंकी सेनामें विक्षुब्ध समुद्रके समान हलचल पैदा हो गयी
tataḥ pradhmāpayat jalajaṁ bherī-śata-sama-svanam | akṣubhyata balaṁ harṣād uddhṛta iva sāgaraḥ ||
Sañjaya said: Then he blew the conch born of the waters, whose deep sound was like that of a hundred war-drums. At that, the Pāṇḍava host, stirred by excitement, became tumultuous—like the ocean when it is churned up.
