The illustrious Bhīmasena showered Karṇa with arrows that flew straight to their mark. Karṇa stood armored and fully prepared for chariot-to-chariot combat, a master of every weapon; yet Bhīma pressed the attack with a relentless rain of shafts.

The verse highlights the kshatriya arena where reputation, readiness, and mastery are proven under pressure. Ethically, it underscores how war tests not only skill but also endurance and resolve, as conflict advances through force rather than dialogue.
Karna describes Bhimasena launching a direct, heavy volley of arrows at him. Karna is depicted as armored and fully prepared for a formal chariot-to-chariot duel, yet Bhima’s sustained missile-rain drives the intensity of the encounter.
