अक्षान्‌ स मन्यमान: प्राक्‌ शरास्ते हि दुरासदा: । शकुनि कौरवसभामें पहले जिन भयंकर पासोंको हाथमें लेकर जूएका खेल खेलता उन्हें वह तो पासे ही समझता था, परंतु वास्तवमें वे दुर्धर्ष बाण थे

akṣān sa manyamānaḥ prāk śarās te hi durāsadāḥ |

Drona said: “Earlier, he took them to be mere dice; yet in truth they were arrows—terrible and unapproachable. The very instruments with which Śakuni once played the gambling match in the Kaurava assembly have now revealed their real nature as weapons, turning deceit and the collapse of dharma into the violence of war.”
