Yudhiṣṭhira said: “Enter the fray in the proper manner; and, having duly joined with the great chariot-warriors, display in battle the valor and deeds that befit your own station and capacity, O Sātvata!”
युधिष्ठिर उवाच
Even in war, action should be governed by nyāya (proper rule and propriety): one should enter and engage in a disciplined, fitting manner, and perform deeds appropriate to one’s role and capability rather than acting rashly or unlawfully.
Yudhiṣṭhira addresses Kṛṣṇa (called Sātvata), urging him to enter the battle correctly, coordinate with the foremost warriors, and then demonstrate the level of martial action and courage that suits him in the ongoing conflict.
