निष्पेतुर्विमला: शकक््त्यस्तैलधौता: सुतेजना: । अम्बुदेभ्यो यथा राजन् भ्राजमाना: शतदह्नदा:,राजन्! तेलकी धोयी चमचमाती हुई तीखी शक्तियाँ बादलोंसे गिरनेवाली कान्तिमती बिजलियोंके समान सब ओर गिर रही थीं
niṣpetur vimalāḥ śaktyas tailadhautāḥ sutejanāḥ | ambudebhyo yathā rājan bhrājamānāḥ śatadahnadaḥ ||
Sañjaya said: O King, spotless spears—polished with oil and blazing with keen brilliance—shot forth and fell on every side, flashing like lightning that bursts from the clouds.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how disciplined preparation and martial prowess, though valued in kṣatriya dharma, can manifest as overwhelming and impersonal destruction in war—inviting reflection on the ethical weight of violence even when performed as duty.
Sañjaya describes the battlefield where oil-polished, gleaming spears are hurled in volleys, flashing and falling in all directions like lightning from storm clouds.
