नामभिस्ते मनुष्येन्द्र पूर्व योधा: परस्परम् । युद्धाय समवर्तन्त समाहूयेतरेतरम्,नरेन्द्र! पहले उन योद्धाओंने एक-दूसरेके नाम ले-लेकर पुकार-पुकारकर युद्धके लिये परस्पर आक्रमण किया
nāmabhis te manuṣyendra pūrvaṃ yodhāḥ parasparam | yuddhāya samavartanta samāhūyetaretaram ||
Sañjaya said: O lord of men, at the outset the warriors, calling one another by name, challenged each other and surged forward—each summoning his opponent into battle and launching mutual assaults.
