भीष्मभीमसमागमः — Bhīṣma–Bhīma Strategic Engagement and Counsel to the King
अपन (_) ] अति्ऑशा<< एकाशीतितमो< ध्याय: सातवें दिनके युद्धमें कौरव-पाण्डव-सेनाओंका मण्डल और वजव्यूह बनाकर भीषण संघर्ष संजय उवाच अथात्मजं तव पुनर्गाज्जियो ध्यानमास्थितम् | अब्रवीद् भरतश्रेष्ठ: सम्प्रहर्षकरं वच:
sañjaya uvāca | atha ātmājaṃ tava punar gāḍhaṃ dhyānam āsthitam | abravīd bharataśreṣṭhaḥ sampraharṣakaraṃ vacaḥ ||
Sanjaya said: Then, seeing your son once again sunk in deep thought, Bhishma—the foremost of the Bharatas, the joy of the Ganga—addressed him with words meant to restore his courage and lift his spirits. In the midst of war, the elder sought to steady the heir, implicitly recalling resolve, duty (dharma), and the need to act without being overwhelmed by anxiety.
संजय उवाच
Even amid crisis, leadership requires steadiness: elders and mentors aim to transform paralyzing worry into purposeful resolve, aligning emotion with one’s perceived duty (kṣātra-dharma) rather than being ruled by anxiety.
Sanjaya reports to Dhritarashtra that Duryodhana is again absorbed in anxious thought; seeing this, Bhishma speaks to him with encouraging words, preparing his mind for the next phase of the battle.
