Makara-vyūha and Krauñca-prativyūha at Sunrise (मकरव्यूहः क्रौञ्चप्रतिव्यूहश्च)
एवं त्वामभिजानन्ति तपसा भाविता नरा: | आत्मदर्शनतृप्तानामृषीणां चासि सत्तम:
evaṁ tvām abhijānanti tapasā bhāvitā narāḥ | ātmadarśanatṛptānām ṛṣīṇāṁ cāsi sattamaḥ ||
Thus do people whose inner being has been refined by austerity truly recognize you. And in the eyes of the seers who are satisfied through direct realization of the Self, you are the best among the noble—supreme in spiritual excellence and worthy of reverence.
भीष्म उवाच
True recognition of the Supreme comes through inner purification by tapas and culminates in direct Self-realization; those established in such realization regard the addressed Lord as the highest excellence (sattamaḥ).
Bhīṣma is offering a hymn-like praise, asserting that spiritually disciplined people and realized sages alike know the addressed being as supremely exalted.
