tato duryodhano rājā prahāravarapīḍitaḥ | niṣasāda rathopasthe kaśmalaṃ ca jagāma ha ||
Then King Duryodhana, grievously afflicted by the force of the blow, sank down upon the seat of his chariot; and he fell into a state of faintness and confusion.

Even royal power and martial pride collapse under the realities of violence; the verse hints that actions rooted in aggression and adharma lead not to lasting victory but to suffering, confusion (kaśmala), and loss of composure.
Sanjaya reports that Duryodhana, badly hurt by powerful strikes, sits down on the chariot-seat and slips into kaśmala—faintness and mental disorientation—showing a momentary breakdown amid the battle.
