Daiva–Puruṣakāra Discourse and the Elephant-Corps Engagement (भीमगजानीक-सम्भ्रान्ति)
धृष्टद्युम्नस्तमारोप्य स्वरथे रथिनां वर: । पश्यतां सर्वसैन्यानामपोवाह यशस्विनम्,तत्पश्चात् रथियोंमें श्रेष्ठ धृष्टद्यम्म यशस्वी भीमसेनको अपने रथपर चढ़ाकर सब सैनिकोंके देखते-देखते अपने दलमें ले गये
dhṛṣṭadyumnas tam āropya svarathe rathināṁ varaḥ | paśyatāṁ sarvasainyānām apovāha yaśasvinam ||
Sañjaya said: Dṛṣṭadyumna, foremost among chariot-warriors, lifted that illustrious Bhīmasena onto his own chariot and, in full view of all the armies, carried him away to the safety of his side.
संजय उवाच
Even in war, dharma includes loyalty and protection of one’s companions; safeguarding a renowned ally in the midst of danger reflects responsible kṣatriya conduct rather than mere aggression.
Sañjaya reports that Dṛṣṭadyumna places Bhīmasena onto his own chariot and drives him away, visibly before all troops, bringing him back toward the Pāṇḍava side.
