Chapter 47: Krauñca-vyūha Deployment and Conch-Signals
Kaurava–Pāṇḍava Readiness
- संजय उवाच ततो धनंजयं दृष्टवा बाणगाण्डीवधारिणम् | पुनरेव महानादं व्यसृजन्त महारथा:
sañjaya uvāca tato dhanañjayaṁ dṛṣṭvā bāṇa-gāṇḍīva-dhāriṇam | punar eva mahānādaṁ vyasṛjanta mahārathāḥ ||
Sanjaya said: Then, seeing Dhanañjaya (Arjuna) bearing his arrows and the Gāṇḍīva bow, the great chariot-warriors raised once more a mighty roar. Their renewed acclamation signaled restored confidence and collective resolve as the battle’s moral and martial stakes intensified.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how the presence of a steadfast leader renews collective courage: when Arjuna is seen fully prepared, the warriors’ morale rises, reflecting the dharmic ideal that resolve and readiness strengthen the community in moments of crisis.
Sanjaya reports that, upon seeing Arjuna armed with arrows and the Gāṇḍīva, the elite warriors raise a powerful roar again—an audible sign of renewed enthusiasm and readiness as the battle momentum builds.
