Chapter 47: Krauñca-vyūha Deployment and Conch-Signals
Kaurava–Pāṇḍava Readiness
प्रत्यपद्यन्त ते सर्वे स्वरथान् पुरुषर्षभा: । ततो व्यूहं यथापूर्व प्रत्यव्यूहन्त ते पुन:
pratyapadyanta te sarve sva-rathān puruṣarṣabhāḥ | tato vyūhaṃ yathāpūrvaṃ pratyavyūhanta te punaḥ ||
Sañjaya said: Then all those bull-like heroes regained their own chariots. Thereafter, once again, they re-formed their battle-array against the enemy, just as before—returning to disciplined order amid the press of war.
संजय उवाच
Even in violent conflict, the narrative highlights kṣatriya discipline and organized conduct: warriors return to their stations and restore formation, implying that duty and order are maintained rather than giving way to chaos.
After a disruption in the fighting, the warriors mount their own chariots again and re-establish their military formation, arranging themselves to face the opposing side as they had earlier.
