Adhyāya 41 — Yudhiṣṭhira’s Gurv-anumati and Strategic Counsel (युधिष्ठिरस्य गुर्वनुमतिः)
इदं ज्ञानमुपाश्रित्य मम साधर्म्यमागता:3 | सर्गेडपि नोपजायन्ते प्रलये न व्यथन्ति च
idaṁ jñānam upāśritya mama sādharmyam āgatāḥ | sarge 'pi nopajāyante pralaye na vyathanti ca ||
“Relying upon this knowledge, those who have attained a state akin to Mine are not born again even at the time of creation, nor are they distressed at the time of dissolution.”
अजुन उवाच
Those who take refuge in liberating knowledge and attain a divine-like steadiness are no longer compelled by cyclical birth, and they remain unshaken even amid cosmic upheavals such as creation and dissolution.
In the midst of the Bhishma Parva dialogue setting, Arjuna speaks a doctrinal point: he describes the fruit of true knowledge—freedom from rebirth and freedom from fear or grief during pralaya—framing liberation as inner stability beyond cosmic change.
