Daivī–Āsurī Sampad-Vibhāga (दैवी–आसुरी संपद्विभागः) | Division of Constructive and Destructive Dispositions
भवामि नचिरात् पार्थ मय्यावेशितचेतसाम्,हे अर्जुन! उन मुझमें चित्त लगानेवाले प्रेमी भक्तोंका मैं शीघ्र ही मृत्युरूप संसार- समुद्रसे उद्धार करनेवाला होता हूँ:
bhavāmi nacirāt pārtha mayy āveśita-cetasām | he arjuna! teṣāṁ mayi cittaṁ niveśitavatāṁ premṇā bhaktānāṁ ahaṁ śīghraṁ mṛtyu-rūpāt saṁsāra-samudrāt uddhartā bhavāmi ||
I soon become, O Pārtha, the deliverer of those loving devotees whose minds are absorbed in Me. For those who fix their heart in Me with devotion, I quickly lift them out of the ocean of worldly existence that takes the form of death.
अजुन उवाच
Single-minded loving devotion (bhakti) draws divine grace: when the devotee’s mind is absorbed in the Lord, the Lord Himself becomes the swift deliverer from saṁsāra, portrayed as a death-filled ocean.
In the midst of the Kurukṣetra setting, instruction is being given to Arjuna: the speaker assures him that devotees who fix their consciousness in the divine are not left to struggle alone—divine intervention carries them across the peril of mortal existence.
