Viśvarūpa-darśana (The Vision of the Universal Form) —

arjuna uvāca: avajānanti māṁ mūḍhā mānuṣīṁ tanum āśritam | paraṁ bhāvam ajānanto mama bhūta-maheśvaram ||

O Arjuna, the deluded disparage Me when I take on a human form. Not knowing My supreme reality, they treat as ordinary the Great Lord of all beings—Me who appears among humans by divine power for the world’s guidance and uplift.

Educational Q&A

Those who judge the Divine by outward appearance fall into error: Krishna’s human embodiment does not diminish His supreme nature as Lord of all beings; ignorance leads to disrespect, while right understanding leads to reverence and devotion.

In the midst of the Kurukṣetra teaching, the discourse explains why some people fail to recognize Krishna’s divinity: seeing Him in human form, they dismiss Him as ordinary, not grasping His transcendent status and cosmic lordship.
