Rāja-Vidyā Rāja-Guhya Yoga (राजविद्या राजगुह्य योग) — The Yoga of Royal Knowledge and Royal Secret

vedāhaṁ samatītāni vartamānāni cārjuna | bhaviṣyāṇi ca bhūtāni māṁ tu veda na kaścana ||

O Arjuna, I know all beings and events—those that have passed, those that are present, and those yet to come. Yet no one truly knows Me as I am, for My reality is not grasped by those devoid of faith and devotion.

Educational Q&A

The Lord affirms divine omniscience—knowledge of past, present, and future—while stressing that true knowledge of the Divine is not merely intellectual; it requires śraddhā (faith) and bhakti (devotion). Without inner receptivity and devotion, the Supreme remains unrecognized.

In the midst of the Kurukṣetra discourse, the Lord addresses Arjuna directly, revealing His transcendent status: He knows all temporal states of beings, yet ordinary people cannot comprehend Him. This prepares Arjuna for deeper revelations about the Lord’s nature and the path of devotion.
