Sanjaya said: One who is disciplined by steady understanding casts off, even here in this very life, both merit and demerit—becoming free from their binding results. Therefore, commit yourself to yoga as equanimity; for yoga is skill in action, the art of acting without bondage.
संजय उवाच
Cultivate yoga as even-mindedness and disciplined understanding so that action is performed skillfully—without attachment to results—thereby becoming free from the binding consequences associated with both merit and demerit.
Sañjaya is reporting Kṛṣṇa’s instruction to Arjuna on the battlefield: Arjuna should adopt yoga (equanimity and inner discipline) so that his duty-bound action does not entangle him in karmic bondage.
