Arjuna said: “O Great Goddess, with an inward self made pure I have praised you. By your grace, may victory be mine always upon the battlefield.”
अजुन उवाच
The verse emphasizes that sincere praise offered with inner purity is linked to seeking divine grace; success in righteous struggle is framed not merely as personal prowess but as dependent on moral intention and the favor of the divine.
On the eve or midst of martial action, Arjuna addresses the Great Goddess, declaring that he has worshipped her with a purified heart and asking that, through her blessing, he may attain continual victory in the battle.
